1. Define the behaviour
Write an observable result: return within a period, complete visits, renew or use a benefit. Avoid vague goals such as improving engagement.
2. Choose the mechanic
Points, stamps, tier or coupon must fit frequency, margin and validation capacity.
3. Design enrolment
Decide where value is explained and how the card is saved: counter, post-purchase, email, QR or link. Measure each source.
4. Connect operations
Define who updates the card, which data is the source of truth and how errors or complaints are handled.
5. Measure and learn
Compare enrolment, use, return and business outcome. Change one hypothesis at a time and document the learning.
