Google Wallet for businessGuided implementation

Google Wallet for business: your loyalty card on Android.

Customers save your card in Google Wallet from a QR code or link, without a brand app. Their balance, tier or benefit updates with real data, and a message with a concrete reason can help you win back customers who stopped coming, within Google's limits.

Google shares your name, email and profile picture, if available, to verify your identity. This does not subscribe you to marketing. Privacy policy

What your business gets

A loyalty card or coupon with your brand in Google Wallet. It can show points, tier or a benefit with its expiry, plus a code to validate; when real data changes, the pass updates without being reissued.

  • Your brand on the card
  • Updatable points, tier or offer
  • Code or QR to validate
  • Messages with a reason behind them

From enrolment to redemption: the journey

The customer scans a QR code or opens an “Add to Google Wallet” link and saves the pass. They see the benefit and its conditions. After a validated purchase or visit, the balance or tier updates. On redemption, your staff validate and the benefit is recorded.

  • Enrolment: QR, link, email or SMS
  • Pass: clear benefit and conditions
  • Update after a validated purchase or visit
  • Redemption validated by staff and recorded

What your business provides and what Vuelvy does

You define the benefit, provide brand assets, copy, contact details and a privacy policy, and decide who validates. Vuelvy designs the pass, configures issuance and updates and supports the launch; Google reviews and approves publication. Issuance can use the client's own issuer account or the issuer managed by Vuelvy as an aggregator, where Google authorises it: the proposal documents the model, who controls the credentials and how migration works.

  • Your business: benefit, conditions and brand
  • Your business: contact and privacy
  • Vuelvy: design, issuance and updates
  • Google: review and approval
04

Google limits worth knowing

Google lets you update the pass and send messages, but the notifications triggered by those updates or messages are limited: at most three per pass in 24 hours according to Google's documentation, on top of user settings and anti-abuse controls. Nearby alerts follow their own conditions. It is not a bulk messaging channel, it does not guarantee every alert is seen and it does not work the same way as Apple Wallet.

05

What drives the cost

There is no single price: every case is assessed individually. Cost depends on the number of venues or brands, pass type, volume, integrations, support and the agreed issuer model. We set it out before you decide.

  • Venues, brands and pass volume
  • Pass type and mechanic
  • POS, e-commerce or CRM integrations
  • Issuer model and support
06

The technical part, for your team

Google organises each programme into a class, holding the template and shared data, and one object per customer with their balance, tier or benefit. Vuelvy updates the object when real data changes, without duplicating the configuration. If your audience also uses iPhone, review the differences with Apple Wallet.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is Google Wallet pricing calculated?

Every case is assessed individually. Vuelvy's proposal separates setup, operations, volume, integrations and issuer model so each programme's cost is transparent.

How is the issuer configured?

It depends on the agreed model: the client's own issuer account, which Vuelvy accesses with minimum permissions, or the issuer managed by Vuelvy as an aggregator where Google authorises it. Google's approval requirements apply in both cases.

Does the customer need to download an app to use Google Wallet?

They need a compatible device and Google Wallet version, but not a proprietary business or Vuelvy app. The pass is saved from a link, QR code, email or enrolment flow.

What are Google Wallet classes and objects?

A class defines the programme template and shared data; an object represents an individual customer's pass. This separation keeps brand identity consistent while allowing individual information to update.

Does Google Wallet support messages and proximity alerts?

Google Wallet offers messaging and location-relevance capabilities subject to pass type, permissions, configuration and Google policies. The system decides final presentation, so exact delivery is not promised.

How is a Google Wallet campaign measured?

Available enrolments, statuses, clicks, codes, redemptions and business events are connected. Measurement is designed around a verifiable conversion rather than an impression estimate Google does not provide.
